Aspiring comic writer from Georgia, Andrew Bolton, seeks to tell the story of Paladin, a mech pilot belonging to a long-standing order of knights.
The comic is a collaborative effort. Bolton writes while artists Robert Ahmad and Derek Dow handle the pencil and ink, and colouring respectively.
The samples of art provided in the Kickstarter listing — which can be seen above — have a clean and professional look quality, and the synopsis of the story is intriguing.:
In the 12th century the Knights Nocturna joined Richard the Lionheart in his crusade to take back the Holy Land from Saladin. While encamped in Cyprus they were attacked by vampires who decimated their numbers. After a long night of fighting, dawn broke and the Knights emerged triumphant. They abandoned their fight against other humans, and began a new war against the creatures that prey on mankind. Now, for the first time in their unending struggle, cutting edge technology, the mechs, has given the Knights an edge over the monsters. Victory is within their grasp, and they will do everything they can to obtain it.
Bolton is currently seeking $3,000 to fund the project on Kickstarter, and has reached $285 of the goal.
