The Airship project hopes to bring a new tavern dedicated to board and tabletop gamers to Atlanta.
Project creator Christopher Wong hopes to bring a special new kind of gaming hangout to Atlanta. Described as a “lounge for lovers of board games, tabletop role-playing, and card games” for “social nerds,” Airship is intended to be a full service tavern/eatery built with social gaming in mind.

Battle And Brew, a popular gamer-centric pub in Sandy Springs, will be hosting its first ever Guilty Gear Xrd tournament May 18.
The tournament is a best of 3, double elimination played on PS3. Players are allowed to bring their own controllers and game pads and anyone wanting to bring extra consoles or copies of the game are welcome to do so. Twenty indie games have been chosen as finalists for the first annual MomoCon Indie Game Awards.
The awards are part of the MomoCon 2015 convention festivities with the ceremony taking place on Saturday, May 30. Winners will receive a prize of $1,000, a 10×20 exhibit space and a dedicated panel at MomoCon 2016. Also included with the prizes are a glass trophy and placement in the MomoCon newsletter.

Hi-Rez Studios will be hosting a charity event in conjunction with the SMITE Pro Leauge Spring Finals.
The charity event will take place over two days — April 23 and 24 — preceding the Pro League Finals, in Alpharetta. The Hi-Rez team has planned two full days of charity events staring off with a 3v3 tournament featuring the teams participating in the Spring Finals.

The event will take place at HI-Rez’s newly acquired studios in Alpharetta, April 25th and 26th. Four teams will compete for a piece of the $60,000 price pool, two European (Trig Esports and Fnatic) and two North American (AFK Gaming and Team SoloMid).

Hi-Rez studios is expanding again, according to a press release on Georgia.org.
The studio, known for it’s popular MOBA game SMITE, is one of the larger game development companies located in the Atlanta area. Currently boasting approximately 150 staffers, the company has announced plans to expand the studio and add 50 more jobs in 2015. These jobs will include software developers, digital artists, game testers and marketing personnel.
